Springtime brings us lighter jackets and warmer weather but if you have severe allergies, it brings a lot of coughing, sneezing, and watery eyes, too. The humidity, pollen, and sometimes mold can turn your beautiful spring day into a miserable one, really quickly. So we’ve rounded up some of our best tips to avoid allergies this spring, no matter what you’re allergic to!
Develop Healthier Habits
Believe it or not, your diet has a lot to do with allergies. Antioxidants are a great way to reduce inflammation and keep any breathing issues at bay. Don’t forget to take extra precautions to manage your stress and anxiety, too! Stress can inflict SO much harm to our bodies and make us more likely to get sick or develop infections.
Clean Your Home
Whether you’re allergic to dust, pollen, or mold, it’s important to try to keep your home as clean as possible. This includes keeping doors and windows closed, changing your air filter regularly, and maybe even using an air purifier if your allergies are severe. The most important rooms to look out for are your bedroom, bathrooms, and your kitchen!
Reduce Outdoor Activites
As much as we want to enjoy the beautiful weather we’ve been waiting all winter long for, sometimes it’s better to stay inside. Keep an eye out for increased pollen or other irritants that you might develop allergies to. Try to head inside on extra windy days, especially in the mornings. If you absolutely have to be outside, try to wear a face mask or cover your mouth to reduce irritation.
