Sleepovers are already great, but adding these summer twists will make them even better! Try out these summer slumber party ideas for loads of fun!
1. Camping Outside
The weather is perfect, so it’s time to gather your extra bedsheets and build forts in your backyard! As always, be there for any technical support, but let your children and their creativity be the backbone of this! Have your children’s friends bring their favorite bedsheets and pillows to make a more personal fort. You can even add a theme to it! Make a “Superhero” fort and have everyone dress up in his or her superhero pajamas.
2. Breakfast Buffet
The morning after the sleepover is usually overlooked as just a time to gather everything and have the kids picked up. This time, focus on the most important meal of the day: breakfast! Gather four/five large bowls, and fill them with different types of cereal (the more colorful the cereal, the more aesthetically pleasing!). You can also make mini pancakes, bacon, eggs, etc. When the kids wake up, they’ll be excited to see an assortment of delicious breakfast treats to eat!
Depending on the central focus of the sleepover, you can hand out kits to each child as they arrive. For example, if you’re planning on having a camping theme, hand them a “S’mores Kit” full of marshmallows, chocolate and Graham crackers. Movie night? Give them candy, a ticket and drink, all in a Popcorn box! The themes are endless, but handing them out will let the kids think that this is more of an event, rather than a typical sleepover!
