Hey Moms! Looking for a fun way to spend some time with your daughter? How about nail painting? It’s simple and relaxing, and a perfect activity to perform while having a nice conversation with your daughter. Also, now that spring has arrived, nail designs that scream warm weather and easy living are totally in! Here are four simple spring nail designs that you and your daughter can do together!
1. Go super light, and start with a first coat of white or cream. Then add a second light coat of silver sparkle. This design is perfect for special occasions and will match with any outfit! This is also perfect to do with your daughter, because it is a very simple design and not that time consuming.
2. Everyone knows the classic spring color is yellow, so that makes it the perfect nail color for this wonderful season. Go light yellow, make sure not to do neon yellow, which might be a little too bright. Once you have done a first coat of light yellow, you can again add some light silver sparkle! From there, you can add a small silver bow on one finger, on each hand. You can find stick-on bows, like in the picture above, at A.C. Moore. Make sure to give this girly design a try!
3. What’s the perfect way to mix in multiple light colors and attract some attention to your nails? A nice fruit design! Start out by using a white first coat, this will really make the fruit pop! Paint each tip a color of a fruit you would like to create, in a circle or an oval shape. Do this for each nail, except if you’re doing a banana on one nail. I will explain the instructions for the banana in a moment. To continue making your other fruits, take a toothpick to complete your designs. For example, for the watermelon, use a toothpick to create that green line above the pink oval. Just make sure there is a little white space above the pink portion, and then draw an oval green line in one fluid motion. Then take another toothpick, and draw small black dots for the seeds! You will use an assortment of dots and lines for your remaining fruit! Now back to the banana! Use a toothpick to draw two tiny smiles, and shade them in. Then take another toothpick to outline them in black so that you can make clear that there are two bananas. This design is simple, perfect for the season and easy to do at home! Just be stocked up on toothpicks! It is also perfect for those artsy mother-daughter pairs out there!
4. There is no better symbol of spring than flowers. Use different shades of pink and yellow for your first coats! You will again need toothpicks to draw brown branches. This again, is simple! Just make a few tiny brown lines. Then take another toothpick, and with the color of your choice, make little tiny dots at the end of your branches to create the flowers! This design is definitely unique and will have you and your daughter’s nails blooming with beauty!
Take some time to sit down with your daughter, and try one of these fun nail designs. She is bound to love them, and it is a great way to spend some time with her! Once you guys are done, you both can show off your spring style with your newly-painted seasonal nails!
ENJOY!
