Ever read those articles about a 20-step skin care routine and feel a sense of peace and can’t wait to try it out? Let’s be real – it’s not because you don’t think your skin is worth the time, but who has an extra hour every single day to devote to cleaning your face? We’re right there with you, you never have more than a minute of time to yourself, and have a never ending list of errands to finish. Not only do you deserve a great skin care routine, you need to make sure it’s time effective. If you’re a busy lady, follow these simple steps for a picture perfect face that doesn’t take hours of maintenance.
Step 1: Organization
How often do you blow your budgeted time because you can’t find half the stuff you need? Throw away anything you haven’t used in the past 6 months or anything that’s basically empty. More than likely you won’t use them and they’re just adding to the clutter. Keep the everyday products accessible and always have a super soft face towel near!
Step 2: Double Time
So let’s get down to it. First things first, you need to cleanse and moisturize, every single day. Wash your face with a great cleanser that works for your skin type. Always avoid harsh cleansers, no matter how rough you think your skin is. Most importantly, ALWAYS follow a cleanser with a moisturizer! For an even quicker routine, use a moisturizer with SPF. You may not think you need it, but you most definitely do.
Step 3: Night Routine
We’re still revolving around a quick routine, but you don’t want to waste your time. So at night, you’ll have to do a little extra, but it will be well worth it. No matter how young you are, it’s never too early to use an anti-aging serum. First, wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Yes, you need to do this in the morning AND at night! Now that your skin is clean, we can apply that serum. Apply something with antioxidants and LOTS of vitamins! You’ll notice a huge difference. It should be noted, if you have oily skin, it might be best to skip this step or consult your dermatologist first.
Step 5: Watch What You’re Eating
Even if you don’t have tons of time to devote to your beauty routine, there are other ways other than cleansing and moisturizing to improve your skin routine. Make sure to drink LOTS of water, and I mean lots. You should be drinking roughly half your body weight in water, in ounces. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, you should be drinking at least 75 oz of water a day. Make sure to eat lots of lean meats, green veggies, and fruits with antioxidants. Sugar is a killer for skin care and may be the root of acne and breakouts.
Hopefully, with these steps, your skin care routine seems a little more manageable. With a little bit of organization, cleanser, and moisturizer, your skin will be glowing. What are some of your favorite tips for quick skin care routines? Leave your comments below!
