Is there ever a morning where you’re not scrambling for time haven’t even started your makeup routine? Either you forgot to set your alarm clock, your kids didn’t want to wake up, or you burned the pancakes. We’ve all been there. With a busy schedule, being able to put your face on in 5 minutes or less is a dream. Here’s a routine that will take some stress out of those days you don’t have the time to spare.
Foundation
Regardless of your usual process, contouring is out of the question when you’re trying to do your makeup in a pinch. As far as foundation goes, go for light coverage. This will allow for quick application and give you a natural look. If you have puffy eyes or any dark circles, use concealer, but do so lightly. Remember – quick and easy!
Blush
Apply a very light contour of cheeks with bronzer, depending on your complexion. This is just to add a little color and highlight to your face and should be just a quick swipe on both sides. After, apply your usual blush by sweeping the brush along the cheekbones. If you’re particularly tired, you can try a lighter pink colored blush. This will add some color to your face, too!
Eyes
After you’re done with your face, all that’s left is your eyes and lips. Apply one quick coat of mascara on your upper and lower lashes, or apply another coat if necessary. You can get a sample mascara brush from a makeup counter at Dillard’s and use it to get the clumps out of your lashes! Liquid eyeliner is an option, but if it’s not a perfected part of your normal routine, it’s better to hold off.
Lips
No matter how tempting that classic red lip is, it doesn’t fit in this routine. Try a lip conditioner that has a built in plumper. Instead of a lipstick, a tinted lip balm is the way to go. This will add color to your lips while adding moisture and making your lips extra soft – all at a fraction of the time! This is a perfect solution for chapped lips too.
And that’s it, folks. With enough practice, you’ll have this routine down in even less than five minutes. The best part about a quick application is that you’re not so worried about perfection and the results are actually better! Lines are smoother and truly are more natural looking.
