Depending on where you’re living, you may or may not have had a teaser of cooler weather already. Here in Texas, we are BEGGING for cooler temperatures! Unfortunately, when you live in Texas October doesn’t usually mean it’s time to pull out your sweaters and boots. We still have a good couple of weeks until official #sweaterweather, so until then, I will have to settle for starting to transition my wardrobe to get ready for the fall season. If you’re still battling higher temps but ready for all things fall fashion, here’s how to get a head start on transition your summer wardrobe for fall!
Start Mixing Seasons
As crazy as this may sound, go ahead and start mixing seasons. So instead of diving headfirst into cardigans, sweaters, and fleece-lined leggings, start smaller! Try mixing in one piece of your fall/winter clothing into your current summer wardrobe. You can try mixing a summery top with jeans and your favorite fall beauties, scarf, or light jacket!
If you’re anything like me, you believe shoes are the soul of fashion – especially fall fashion. And believe me when I tell you a good pair of boots can make you feel like you’re in the middle of Fall, even if the temperature says otherwise! The first thing I always transition in my wardrobe is my shoes. Whether you go for a pair of boots, booties, or your UGGS, it’s a great starting point for your wardrobe!
Add Patterns + Prints
You would be amazed by how much a difference a pattern or print will make. Start adding fall/winter prints to your summer wardrobe until your wardrobe can go full out sweater weather. It doesn’t really feel like fall until we throw on a plaid button-up, does it? Nope! So don’t feel shy throwing on plaid even if it’s above 80 degrees outside.
