So we’ve all heard of the magic of coconut oil in the kitchen, but get this – you can switch out that super expensive makeup remover with coconut oil, too! Coconut oil is truly a universal super ingredient that can do amazing things from moisturizing your skin and lips to helping strengthen your hair. Here are some ways to incorporate coconut oil into your beauty routine.
Hair mask
So coconut oil is a solid, but after becoming 80°F, it becomes a sweet liquid. While showering, melt some oil by running the container under the warm shower water. After shampooing, apply a super generous amount to your entire hair, root to ends, and tie it up. Let it soak for 10 minutes, and wash it out. Not only will your hair be softer, but you’ll notice tons more silk and shine, too!
Cuticle softener
If you’re anything like me and have terrible cuticles, don’t run straight to the nail salon. Coconut oil can fix those cuticles right up! You can use the oil in its solid or liquid form, though I prefer liquid. Use a small amount, and apply them directly to your cuticles and let it soak in. Your nails will get stronger, and your cuticles will look as good as new!
Under-eye cream
If you don’t have wrinkles, puffiness, or dark circles under your eyes, this one’s not for you! But if you’re not blessed with youthful skin, your favorite oil is here for you. Most effective eye cream comes with a heavy price tag. Grab some out of the jar and lightly dust under your eyes. Repeat every morning and evening!
Makeup remover
No matter if you have longwear or your makeup diminishes every hour, coconut oil can melt away your make-up. Massage liquid coconut oil onto your face, and watch the make-up fade right away! If you prefer wipes instead of liquid, no worries. Melt some coconut oil for each cotton pad, and make sure your oil is liquid. Lay the cotton pads in an even layer and let them soak up the oil overnight. Store them in a safe place, or even put them in a container you can take with you on the go!
Shaving cream
Run out of shaving cream, or go through it like there’s no tomorrow? This oil allows a cheaper and easier way to get your freshly shaven legs some nourishment. Melt some coconut oil to a liquid form and lather on your legs. Your razor will get a super-close shave, and your legs will be softer than ever!
Let’s all be honest, what can coconut oil not do? You can use it in your food, in the shower, and even on your hair. If you haven’t started using it yet, there’s no better time than now! What are some of your favorite ways to use coconut oil? Leave your comments below!
