As we all get ready for the Thanksgiving holiday, we often forget about Black Friday shopping. Black Friday is the largest shopping holiday of the year and it sneaks up on us year after year. But before you start reminiscing about the dread Black Friday shopping brings, we have some good news for you. Shopping for the best deals during Black Friday doesn’t have to be miserable, especially if you pack some reinforcements before you leave the house. Here are some tips for a successful Black Friday shopping trip that will knock out your family’s Christmas shopping without the hassle.
Plan Ahead
Trust me, I get how hectic the holidays can be. There’s barely any time between Halloween and Thanksgiving to do much of anything else. However, just a little bit of pre-shopping preparation can make a huge difference in your savings! Make sure you check out any local newspapers or store ads and decide what your must-haves are. If you already know what you’re looking for make sure to price check on multiple websites and write down the best deals you find. When you get out in the chaos, you’ll forget what you saw online and will do anything to get in and out as quickly as possible. Also, don’t forget to check for timed deals. Sometimes stores will have deals that start in the afternoon or during “slow hours”. Not only will you save a few extra bucks, but you may get some extra sleep!
Don’t Forget Your List
The biggest mistake you can make while Black Friday shopping is hoping to find some great deals and snagging what you can. Make a list of each person you want to get a gift for and what you have in mind for their gift. Don’t forget to plan a budget or maximum you want to spend. It’s important that your list has flexibility for some price fluctuation but it’s also important that you don’t get carried away. Write down exactly what you plan to buy, how much it costs, and where you plan on getting it. If there are any coupons or ads for those items, make sure to grab a screenshot or bring them with you and keep them organized. If you have everything in one place, you shouldn’t have any issues finding what you want at the right price!
Be Prepared
After you figured out the logistics of your shopping trip, you’re on your way to having a successful day. However, it’s incredibly important you make sure you’re prepared and don’t forget anything before you leave the house. If you have time make sure to eat breakfast. If you don’t have the extra time, pack a lunch or some snacks. Don’t forget water bottles or anything else you might need. Most importantly, dress comfortably to ensure a positive day and reduce any stress the day might inevitably have. If possible, get a friend or family member to drop you off to avoid the nightmare of parking and save extra time!
