The school year is right around the corner, so you know what that means! The back to school jitters can get the best of both you and your kiddos. As crazy as it may sound, going back to school should be a fun and exciting part of the year! It can be tough to get used to waking up early, carpooling and packing lunches after so many weeks of sleeping in. However, whatever grade your kiddo might be entering it’s important to help them on the road to success. We have a few tips to help both kiddos and mamas get ready for the 2018 school year!
Plan Healthy Meals
After a summer of fun snack and outdoor exercise, it’s hard to get back into a healthy routine. If you have busy mornings, try waking up a little bit early and setting out a healthy breakfast for your kiddos. Starting a meal with a nutritious breakfast is so important for your little one! Preparing hard boiled eggs and sliced fruit the night before can help the mornings go more smoothly. And there are also so many fun lunch ideas for your child’s school lunch! Having fun with a school lunch makes the day better for both you and your kiddos.
Go Back to School Shopping Early
There is nothing quite as stressful as being unprepared. Instead of running around last minute, plan ahead! A week before school, scout out everything you need and go ahead and purchase those items. The earlier you can, the better!
Plan Out Extracurriculars
Just like with school supply shopping, try planning hobbies beforehand, too! While kids change their mind about what sport or instrument they want to play all the time, you can only make things easier on yourself by planning! Ask your child what sport or hobby they want to do during the school year, and plan it out early so you are not last-minute scrambling to find a soccer team or piano instructor.
Spend Time Together
When your kids start school and come home after a long day of school and sports then only to turn to their homework you will miss spending quality time together! Spending time together with your child over the summer before school begins and when school starts will help the both of you become closer. Life is always busy, but spending quality time together helps to strengthen your bond.
Getting the kiddos ready to go back to school doesn’t have to be painful! With a little preparation, courage, and positive attitudes, you’ll be back to normal in no time. What are some of your favorite tips for back to school magic? Leave your comments below!
