Taking vacations is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. The memories we make truly last years and years and are some of my favorite childhood memories. But unfortunately, sometimes we only have a few days free and a low budget, so planning a long extravagant vacation isn’t an option. So if you’re looking for a way to fill up those last few free summer weekends, we’ve rounded up our favorite mini vacation ideas to try before the end of the summer! Here are our top picks:
If you’re looking for a family-friendly destination, Jekyll Island is a great spot! I remember going here year after year with my parents and had the absolute best memories there. Just an hour and a half away from Jacksonville, it’s a great place to soak up some sun for a 3-day vacation! Jekyll Island is packed with delicious food, unbelievable views, and one-of-a-kind seafood, too!
Seattle is one of my favorite places in the world. Full of amazing tourist activities, such as the space needle, the Museum of Popular Culture, or the Museum of Flight. Not to mention Pike Place Market, some of the best eats you’ll find in the state of Washington. Seattle is a great family-friendly place to go to, especially in the spring or summer!
A short drive from San Francisco, Big Sur is another beach destination but one absolutely worth mentioning. To get there, you have to get on one of the most iconic roads in the USA – Pacific Coast Highway! A truly once in a lifetime experience, you can pass through Bixby creek, which offers gorgeous cliff-side views of the ocean. But it doesn’t end there! Once you finally make your way to Big Sur, there are countless activities you can participate in! Hiking, fishing, camping, or enjoying some beachside time, too!
