We all want to be in good shape but sometimes it’s easier said than done. You might hate working out with other people or you may just find it impossible to fit it into your schedule. No matter what your struggles are, there are more ways than one to get into shape. Here are some of our favorite hacks for a great exercise routine!
Short & Sweet
A quick, but intense exercise routine is always better than dragging out a workout that does nothing for you. Try high-intensity workouts, or interval workouts to get the most out of your time in the gym!
The Earlier, The Better
If you can, start your morning with a brisk run, some morning yoga, or even a quick trip to the gym! This will absolutely kick-start your morning in high gear. Plus, you don’t have to spend the rest of the day dreading your evening workout.
Be Prepared
If you decide to go early in the morning, make sure to pack up the night before. That means a change of clothes, shoes, socks, and don’t forget your water and post-workout snacks! You’ll be ready to go in the morning and won’t have any excuse to postpone your workout.
Multitask
Love to watch TV? You don’t have to go to the gym to get a good workout in! Commercial breaks are a great time to squeeze in some physical activity. Try some lunges, some high kicks or even sit-ups. Before you know it you’ll have gotten a good 30-minute workout done!
Switch it Up
If you live pretty close to the office, the grocery store, or the park, try switching up your routine. If you can walk, it’s a great way to sneak in a workout during your normal day. Biking is a great way to burn off some of those extra calories and not add too much time to your daily commute!
Hydrate
Believe it or not, hydration is one of the most important things when it comes to working out. Not only does it help you release water weight, but it will keep you going through your workout and will help will muscle soreness too.
Rev up Your Energy
If you’re feeling a little low on energy, grab a green tea or a cup of coffee. Not only will you feel better, but you might get a little more out of your workout, too!
Make it Social
Get a group of friends together to commit to hitting the gym more often. Whether it’s working out together or taking a class, you’re more likely to stick to your exercise routine together!
Sleep is Key
In order to get the most of your routine, sleeping is extremely important. Your body will recover quicker and you won’t feel as worn out throughout the day!
Treat Yourself
It doesn’t have to be all difficult. It can be a piece of chocolate, some new shoes, or a nice warm bath. It’s important to reward yourself for the hard work put forth!
Make it A Routine
Once you get in the habit of anything, it becomes second nature. Making daily trips to the gym, your living room, or your yoga mat on the balcony will help you keep up your exercise routine long-term.
After a few adjustments to your exercise routine, you’ll be on your way to a happy and healthy lifestyle.
